The Intro Medical Diagnostic Lab course comprises of a set of video lectures covering many aspects of laboratory science, identifying various morphologies in blood, identifying many different parasites and other microorganisms, cultures in urine tests, and the significance of all these to health and disease.

The Intro Medical Diagnostic Lab contains ten lessons with a series of videos to watch, including:

• Lesson 1 – Blood component, storage, principles of RBC count, blood group interpretation, urine culture test, blood grouping
• Lesson 2 – Principles of AST, WBC identification, normal flora, necrosis
• Lesson 3 – WBC identification, Leishman stain, Trichinella spiralis, epithelium tissue, foodborne diseases
• Lesson 4 – Fouchet’s / Harrison Spot Test, Intestinal Nematode eggs, blood agar medium, sulfosalicylic acid
• Lesson 5 – Morphology and colony characteristics of Dermatophytes, crystals in the urine, virus detection methods, RBC in urine, platelet clumping
• Lesson 6 – CLED Agar medium, anaplasia, protozoa cysts, intestinal Nematode eggs,
• Lesson 7 – Cast in urine, Proteus colony morphology, crystals in the urine, protozoa cysts, W. Bancrofti vs B. Malayi
• Lesson 8 – Ziehl Nielson Stain, haematology tests reference range, Clue cells, Mosquito eggs, crystals in the urine
• Lesson 9 – G6PD deficiency blood picture, Benedict Test, Protozoa cysts, Dermatophytes, fastidious organisms
• Lesson 10 – hypersegmented neutrophils, Proteus species, coagulase test limitations, platelet satellitism, helminths
